wow, digging through my lightroom library, i ran across these gems:

so, rather than boring you all with yet more portraits from sometime last year, i decided to put these ones up.

i took a bronica medium format camera with me that day, loaded with a konica film (which one exactly eludes me, sorry). manual focus, eyeballing the exposure (cloudy 11, sunny 16), nothing particularly artistic. the scans aren’t exactly very good, but i don’t have a decent scanner, so i used on here at uni.

i love playing around with medium format film, but sadly, there are no more photo labs left in innsbruck who develop the film themselves. meaning, it’s costly as hell. if i take 5 rolls of film, it will be cheaper to buy the equipment to develop it myself than taking it to a shop. it’s ridiculous. so the bronica is gathering dust atm.

holly and simon got married

holly and simon (no, not me, another simon – the guy on the picture at the right) got married. well, they did that in september. this blog wasn’t around then and i wasn’t around for the wedding. it was in australia and they all had one cracker of a time, judging by all the pictures i saw. i’d have loved to go, but unclement circumstances (not weather) led to me not being able to go.

so, when did all this happen? on a fine sunny day called the 14th of september somewhere in the hamilton islands on the australian continent. i’ve been told they’re somewhere up the east coast, north of sydney near the barrier reef, so that should enable you all to find and hit the islands with a pin on your nearest friendly world map.
as only about 20 ppl made it to the wedding in australia, holly and simon decided to throw a “swanky black tie event” with “chocolate fountains, string quartets, roulette tables, ice sculptures, cocktails, blackjack and a barber shop quartet”.big thanks, you two, and everyone else who helped organise the do – it was great! )
as far as i can tell, everyone had a great time. judging by the smile on holly’s face on most of the photos, she had the best time of them all.simon looks very happy as well on all of the pics i’ve seen so far. holly may have to work some magical wizardry she learnt at college on some of the pictures, but i have every confidence she can and will. i’m just a lowlife text-based geek, so i’ll leave the picture hacking to the pros. )
